What problems does the aging society bring? This means that the working population must bear more elderly population; that is, the dependency ratio will continue to increase. In order to support the government in providing social welfare for the elderly, people may work more and pay more taxes.
Aging & declining birthrate are the same problem. When there are fewer and fewer children, the future working population will be smaller, and the elderly population in the whole society will increase relatively.
People's wisdom is unlimited, but their life span is limited. As the organs age, the human body will gradually weaken until death. This world requires labor, but can you imagine a life that continues to delay retirement? In addition to encouraging marriage and childbirth, we must also plan early for savings and retirement.
The number of births in Taiwan has declined rapidly in recent years. Coupled with the impact of the pandemic, the population has entered a negative growth early, and the median age of the population has also continued to rise.
After the Taiwan population has entered a negative growth, the marriage situation is still not ideal. It is expected to enter the super-aged society early in 2025 when the 65-year-old population exceeds 20% of the total population.
When Taiwan entered the super-aged society, the demand for long-term care surged, and the elderly needed the support of various medical and insurance resources to help them feel safe from aging to death.
Countries worldwide are about to face a super-aged society, and humanity must improve supporting measures in the fields of science and technology, medical treatment, and human rights to cope with this challenge.
