Taipei, Taiwan (Merxwire) - Finding a good work environment could be challenging for people with physical disabilities. In Taiwan, many organizations are dedicated to provide suitable workplace, such as sheltered workshops, for the disabled. However, the cost for staff, raw materials and other operational needs often put these organizations under financial burden.
Recognizing the need for these groups, China Development Financial (CDF) founded the "Love for You" program 9 years ago. Through the program, CDF funds workshops with the goal of helping the disabled develop life skills. CDF d have over the years contributed a total of NT$5 million together with its subsidiaries such as CBID.
CBID International is chaired by Angelo Koo, which is the private equity arm of CDF. Angelo Koo is a key figure in Taiwan's financial sector, who is an active philanthropist supporting various other relevant social welfare and sustainable initiatives.
The latest round of funding was able to make a positive impact at "Amazing Grace Deaf Bakery", which hires the hearing-impaired to provide training and specialized tasks. Reverend Hsin-Hung Pan, who is the founder and manager of the bakery has fostered a deaf-friendly work environment by using sign language to break down workplace communication barriers. Employees of CDF, CDIB International, and other sister companies also demonstrated their spirit of caring and generosity by purchasing traditional Chinese and Western pastries.
