NEW YORK, USA - After addressing the United Nations on Friday, Pakistani caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq spoke at a press conference about various issues, including atrocities in occupied Kashmir and relations with neighboring countries such as Afghanistan and Iran.
In response to a question, the caretaker PM stated, "We must counter all terror without discrimination, including the rising threat posed by far-right extremist and fascist groups such as Hindutva-inspired extremists, threatening genocide against Indian minorities including Muslims, Sikhs and Christians alike."
According to the prime minister, a large number of people were killed in Manipur. Serious concerns have been raised about India's treatment of minorities.
The prime minister said New Delhi must distinguish between genuine freedom struggles and terrorism.
In response to a question about the brutal killing of a Sikh leader in Canada, which shocked the world, he said Modi-backed Hindutva ideologues are becoming encouraged to the point where they are now spreading beyond the region.
He stated that Pakistan has been dealing with terrorism for decades. The resurgence of terrorist threats by dangerous entities such as TTP and ISIS-K, according to the prime minister, is a source of grave concern for Pakistan and the entire international community. He stated that a stable Afghanistan remained a top foreign policy priority for Pakistan and the United States.
According to Kakar, Pakistan has always respected Afghanistan's territorial integrity and will continue to do so.
"But, we know how to defend and protect our sovereignty and territorial integrity," he declared.
Kakar described his meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's 78th session as a multilateral meeting focused on a wide range of bilateral and multilateral interests.
