FOXBOROUGH, Mass. The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed T Yasir Durant (pronounced YAH-seer) as a free agent. Terms of the contract were not announced.
Durant, 27, originally entered the NFL in 2020 as a rookie free agent with Kansas City out of Missouri. The 6-6, 330-pounder, was traded by Kansas City to New England in 2021, where he played in eight games with one start at right tackle and as a tackle-eligible tight end in addition to serving on extra point and field goal units. Durant was signed by New Orleans as a free agent in 2022 and spent training camp with Denver in 2023 before being released ahead of the regular season.
Overall, Durant has played in 20 games with two starts. He spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons in the UFL with the DC Defenders. Last season, he started every game at left tackle for the championship-winning Defenders and was named to the All-UFL team.
