Jake Bauers had three hits, including a tiebreaking two-run double in the 10th inning, and the Milwaukee Brewers rallied to beat the Colorado Rockies 9-7 in Denver on Friday night.
Sam Frelick had two hits and two RBIs and Tyler Megill (1-2) got the win for Milwaukee, which had just one hit through eight innings but rallied to snap a two-game skid.
Hunter Goodman homered, Sterlin Thompson had three hits and two RBIs and Jake McCarthy two hits for Colorado, which wasted a strong outing by Colorado starter Ryan Feltner.
Brewers reliever Brian Fitzpatrick, recalled earlier in the day from Triple-A, left the game in the bottom of the seventh. Fitzpatrick grabbed his left arm after throwing a warmup pitch and was helped to the dugout by a team trainer.
Milwaukee loaded the bases in the 10th on two walks against Juan Mejia (1-5) and Bauers stroked a double to right-center to make it 7-5. Garrett Mitchell and Frelick followed with RBI singles to open it up.
Thompson had a two-run single in the bottom of the 10th but McCarthy fanned to end the game.
With the Brewers trailing 3-1 entering the ninth, Brice Turang led off with a single and William Contreras hit a comebacker to Antonio Senzatela, who threw wildly to second, putting runners on first and second. Bauers singled to make it 3-2 and Frelick's double tied it.
Andrew Vaughn followed with a two-run single to give Milwaukee a 5-3 lead.
The Rockies loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning and Megill walked Chad Stevens to bring home a run. Goodman's sacrifice fly sent it to extra innings.
The Rockies took a 1-0 lead against Brandon Sproat in the first and Milwaukee tied it in the second. Feltner took over, retiring the last 13 batters he faced. He allowed one run on just one hit and struck out four.
Edouard Julien's RBI single in the second gave Colorado the lead again, and Goodman made it 3-1 in the third with his 16th home run of the season.
Sproat allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings.
