WASHINGTON, D.C.: The White House is preparing a new directive aimed at reviving domestic coal production as energy demands surge from the growth of AI-driven data centers, according to Bloomberg News.
U.S. President Donald Trump is seeking to expand the mining and use of coal inside the country in a bid to power the boom in data centers, Bloomberg News reported during the week, citing a senior White House official.
The report said Trump will sign an executive order outlining several steps the government will take to reinvigorate the coal industry.
