WASHINGTON, D.C.: The White House has invited Elon Musk and Tim Cook to join President Donald Trump on his trip to China this week, Bloomberg News reported on May 11, citing a White House official.
The visit is expected to include a delegation of more than a dozen senior U.S. business executives as Trump seeks to secure new commercial agreements and purchase commitments during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to the report, executives expected to travel with Trump include David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, Larry Fink of BlackRock, Jane Fraser of Citigroup, and Dina Powell McCormick of Meta Platforms.
The White House hopes the presence of leading executives will help advance business deals between U.S. companies and Chinese counterparts.
The companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
China's state-run Xinhua News Agency said Trump will make a state visit to China from May 13 to May 15.
The summit comes as Washington and Beijing seek to stabilize relations amid ongoing tensions over trade, Taiwan, and the economic fallout from the Iran war.
